Crows & Mice

Most of this week Glen has had some fun being by chased crows & chasing them back.

He has been mobbed and dive bombed by rooks, jackdaws, magpies, and carrion crows. But he has not been put off, instead he has given them a taste of there own medicine. He was close to catching one in level flight but needs to learn to keep his height, before putting in a stoop to get them (a dive).

I do admire crows and think they are a very intelligent spices, but as crows are classed as a pest spices, they can be hunted all year round (the same as rabbits).

Glen's also been off and after mice in the woods. He caught 2 in one trip out this week, even if he lost one after another Harris Hawk (flying with us) had a squabble trying to nick it of him.

Soaring high

A great day today, Glen has been out with a friend of his (Jasper). To be honest Glen was being a little naught at first but after getting halfway round and chasing a good 5 mice he found some thermals and was soaring up high looking for some prey.

This is some of the best soaring I've ever seen him do!

I will have find the video of his 1st time on the soar, and then grab a new video the next time he dose it, and post it!
